Rizal Memorial Coliseum
The Rizal Memorial Coliseum in Malate, Manila is the oldest major indoor arena in the country, opened in 1934 for the Far Eastern Games and part of the wider Rizal Memorial Sports Complex. It seats around 7,000, which puts it in a useful middle ground — bigger than a theatre, far more intimate than the big arenas — and it is a mainstay of UAAP and NCAA basketball and volleyball as well as boxing. It is also one of the few major venues you can genuinely walk to from a train, with LRT-1 Vito Cruz five to ten minutes away.
