What we publish, where it comes from, and what we do when we get it wrong.

Sourcing hierarchy

When two sources disagree, we use the one higher on this list:

  1. The venue’s or cinema chain’s own published schedule.
  2. The official ticketing partner’s event page.
  3. The organiser’s or promoter’s own announcement.
  4. Aggregated listings and reader submissions — used only as a lead, never published unchecked.

Before an event is published

  • The date, start time, and venue are confirmed against a primary source.
  • Prices are recorded as a range with the currency, or marked “TBA” rather than guessed.
  • The listing links out to the organiser or official ticketing page. We never sell tickets ourselves.
  • Anything we cannot confirm is left off rather than filled in.

How showtimes are ingested and retired

Movie showtimes come from the cinema chains’ published schedules and refresh several times a day. Screenings that have passed drop out automatically. When a film stops showing, its page stops being listed rather than sitting in search results advertising screenings that no longer exist.

Automation disclosure

Two kinds of pages on this site are assembled by software rather than written from scratch, and we label them as such:

  • Weekend and monthly roundups. These are compiled from our events database using a fixed template and reviewed before they stay up. Each one carries a note saying so. They are given an expiry date: once the weekend or month has passed, the page is marked out of date and removed from search results rather than left looking current.
  • Listing and showtime pages. These are generated from structured data — schedules, venues, prices. They are reference tables, not articles, and we do not present them as editorial.

Everything under Guides & News marked as a Guide is researched, drafted and edited under the direction of the two people who run Ganap.io, who are responsible for every claim on the page. Automated listing roundups are labelled as such. We publish no personal bylines, and we do not put machine-written prose under a human name.

Corrections

Email hello@ganap.io with the page and what’s wrong. Factual errors in a listing — wrong date, venue, or price — are fixed as soon as we can confirm the correct detail, usually within a business day. Substantive corrections to a guide are noted in the page’s updated date. We do not quietly delete pages to make a mistake disappear.

Advertising and affiliate disclosure

Ganap.io is funded by display advertising and, on some pages, affiliate links to ticketing partners. If you buy through an affiliate link we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

Advertising and affiliate relationships do not affect what we list, the order listings appear in, or what a guide recommends. Paid placements are labelled as sponsored. Advertisers do not see guides before they are published and cannot request changes to them.

Third-party data attributions

Film metadata, posters, and cast information are provided by The Movie Database (TMDB). This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

Cinema schedules remain the property of their respective chains. Event details and artwork remain the property of the organisers and promoters who published them.
