Toneejay is a Filipino singer-songwriter working in acoustic-led pop with Filipino-language lyrics, part of the cohort whose audiences were built through streaming and short-form video rather than radio. His material sits in the melodic, emotionally plain register that defines much of the current OPM wave. Like most of his contemporaries he plays the university and small-venue circuit, where a following built on streaming translates into full rooms surprisingly quickly.
